Innovations in Healthcare Delivery

Innovations in Healthcare Delivery (IHD) submissions address improvements across multiple domains of healthcare, including patient outcomes, clinician experience, healthcare cost and quality, and health inequities. General internists are at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to tackle the most challenging problems in healthcare. Appropriate topics include quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, the implementation and evaluation of innovative clinical programs or care delivery models (e.g., medical home and chronic care delivery models), applied informatics in healthcare, systems engineering, translating research into practice, methods to effect changes in clinicians’ behavior, and strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness (including population health programs for value-based payment arrangements). The theme of this Annual Meeting is From Ideas to Action: Catalyzing Change in Academic General Internal Medicine.

Submissions are required to include evaluation data, which may consist of qualitative and/or quantitative measures. Submissions should also address the reproducibility and feasibility of the intervention at the practice and/or community level.
